UPDATE: Swim location is at Adventure Bay, opposite the general store.

It was in January, 2022 that the Bruny Wild Swimmers held their first swim. To mark the anniversary of that first dip, the Bruny Wild Swimmers have now held community swims each January that have attracted over 100 swimmers at each event. For 2026, the Bruny Wild Swim Classic on the 14th February, 2026.

Registrations open 10:00am
Swim briefing: 10:50am
Swim starts: 11:00am

Like our weekly swims, the Swim Classic location won't be announced until the day before.  It's the same logic that we use to pick our week day swims. If swimming conditions aren't great on one side of the island, it will be good on the other. As a rule of thumb, if the wind is blowing easterly, the swim will be at Alonnah (like in 2023). If it's blowing westerly, it will be at Adventure Bay (like in 2024 and 2025).

We'll have 2 courses with a longer swim (1500m) and shorter swim (700m). They will be out and back courses. If you are not a swimmer, come and join our water walkers who will be doing their thing on either the long or short course.

This is a community event so no matter whether you want to set the swimming course record or just bring the kids along and walk in the shallows, all are welcome.

Please register your participation early using our online form.
